I was out at town today and this was what I saw.

Far East at 7PM on CNY eve.
Nevermind the shops were all closed for the day. Nevermind there were no girls to beo at. Nevermind the streets of town were as dead as dead can be. I was actually loving the stillness of it. No noisy shoppers with crazy shopping lists, no young punks with terrible fashion sense, no loud ah beng music emanating from ah beng handphones. It was just me and Dil walking, and I almost felt I owned the streets.
This CNY, I want to be a good boy. I want to finish up studying for my test next week! (Yes, bah to stupid lecturers who plan quizzes a week after CNY and a day after Vday) I figure this will be a good time to catch up on my academics since the rest of the ching chongs will be busy basking themselves in the CNY festive mood.
This CNY, while we're all BaiNian-ing, let's not forget those people who are unable to celebrate this joyous occasion as much as we do, shall we? Hence, this post is also dedicated to all these people, including bus drivers, security people, law enforcers etc. The list is not exhaustive, I'm sure a lot more people have to work during this period.
Lastly, this post especially goes out to non-ching chongs doing COS duty everywhere on the island. Believe me, I know how it feels like. It sucks to be doing duty on a public holiday, but if it were an extra, then I think you deserve it.
